[Annenberg Radio] Singing for detainees behind the walls

Music came to the doorstep of a federal prison in downtown L.A. today — music with a message of hope for the immigrants detained inside. We hear from Los Jornaleros del Norte, a band comprised of day laborers, and Ana Tijoux, an acclaimed rapper from Chile, about the need for solidarity with immigrants in Los Angeles. The gathering was organized by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, the first event in a music-charged series called Chant Down the Walls.
