When Lionel Muldrew picked up his keys on Monday for a renovated apartment at the Rosslyn Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, he wasn’t just excited about moving into a new home — it would be his first home in six years. The army veteran snagged the unit through SRO Housing, a nonprofit that provides housing and services to people who are homeless.
After welcoming 75 veterans this week, SRO Housing will invite about 200 others into the Rosslyn as well — among them, people with mental illnesses and people who had been chronically homeless.
